  • Experience with network infrastructure and data center deployments.

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience with hardware and software systems development, ideally involving networking solutions.
  • Experience designing, deploying, and sustaining network fabric solutions, as well as launching data center solutions.
  • Experience as a software engineer, or experience with hardware architecture, design, and large-scale distributed systems.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.

As a Technical Program Manager (TPM) for Google's PLANET Networking team, you will oversee the full lifecycle of critical data center networking infrastructure, including accelerator and machine learning networks. You will be responsible for designing and deploying cutting-edge hardware (TPU, GPU, and IPU) and complex software stacks that serve as the foundation for all Google products.

In this role, you will use your strategic leadership and technical expertise to mobilize cross-functional teams and drive data-driven decision-making. Your technical mastery will be crucial in shaping architectural decisions, building consensus among stakeholders, and turning complex quantitative analyses into actionable strategic plans.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $163000 - $237000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Oversee complex NPI networking programs, managing hardware, software, and network deployments across cross-functional groups with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Navigate ambiguity to develop strategies and drive large-scale, cross-functional programs that span multiple organizations and directly impact company or product area Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
  • Establish success criteria and measurable milestones, continuously analyzing and optimizing processes to improve project velocity, quality, and efficiency while delivering incremental value.
  • Maintain widespread and transparent communication to keep stakeholders aligned and informed of progress through regular checkpoints, such as engineering reviews.
  • Apply deep technical expertise to guide proposals, conduct technology reviews, translate quantitative analysis into actionable plans, and build consensus for critical decisions.
