About the job

We are looking for a creative Communications Specialist to help contextualise and amplify Google DeepMind’s research around AGI. In this role, you will partner with cross-functional teams to develop, manage and execute a rolling calendar of media engagement, social media activations and events to ensure that our goals, thought leadership and unique insights reach a range of audiences.

You will be responsible for ensuring technical concepts are conveyed in accessible and compelling narratives. You will own the content strategy for key channels, crafting high-quality materials (ranging from press releases to social media) to drive engagement and discussion.

Beyond storytelling you will contribute to the planning and execution of executive-level events, managing logistics, content preparation and presentation development to ensure seamless delivery and maximum impact.

Success requires a proactive and adaptable mindset towards risk mitigation, and the ability to ensure brand consistency in a changing environment and you will be passionate about advanced technology to shape the narrative at the forefront of innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead social media channel strategy, optimizing performance, content efficacy, and audience engagement.
  • Define and manage a rolling launch calendar, synthesizing complex technical concepts into high-impact narratives for press releases and thought leadership.
  • Lead end-to-end planning of high-profile events, managing logistics, run-of-show, and content preparation to ensure seamless delivery and maximum audience engagement.
  • Partner with research, policy, and engineering teams to translate technical developments into accessible content, acting as the primary liaison to ensure editorial and operational consistency.
  • Serve as a key point-of-contact for media inquiries, cultivating journalist relationships and coordinating engagements. Analyze media coverage and perception trends to refine communication strategies.
    Implement risk mitigation, maintain brand voice, and establish metrics to track content efficacy and optimize future engagement through data-driven insights.
