About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Google Pay India is at the forefront of India's digital payments revolution. We build and scale a leading platform used by hundreds of millions of consumers and millions of merchants for a wide range of transactions, from peer-to-peer transfers and bill payments to in-store and online purchases. Beyond payments, we are expanding access to financial services, striving to make money management and financial products more accessible to all Indians. Joining our team means shaping the future of finance in one of the world's most dynamic digital economies.

Whether it is paying online with Autofill, using tap and pay in stores, or using the Google Pay app, the Payments team at Google is focused on making payments simple, seamless, and secure. In addition to consumer payment technologies, the Payments team also powers the money movement between Google and its consumers and businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and own the end-to-end delivery of multiple complex, cross-functional technical programs critical to Google Pay India's strategic goals, such as everyday utility payments (Billpay, Recharge, Transit), new feature launches, platform modernization, and partner ecosystem integrations.
  • Define program scope, objectives, and key results (OKRs), translating ambiguous problems into clear plans, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Drive program execution, proactively identify and mitigate risks, manage dependencies, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advocate the integration of agent-based AI tools and autonomous workflows into technical program management practices, proactively automating routine operations and enhancing predictive risk mitigation.
  • Exercise strong technical judgment to understand engineering challenges, contribute to design discussions, evaluate trade-offs, and guide technical decisions.
