Technical Program Manager, Play Developer

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers. Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps and games for devices, powered by the cloud. It syncs across devices and on the web. As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping product strategy, to forming great content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop. The Google Play team enhances the Android ecosystem by giving developers and partners a premium store where they can reach millions of users.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate projects that span offices, product areas, and time zones, ensuring all players are aligned on progress and deadline and maintain flexibility to collaborate across global time zones with international stakeholders and cross-site partners.
  • Partner with Engineering and Product Leads to accelerate organizational execution and drive high-priority initiatives and manage the organization’s portfolio planning and prioritization.
  • Advocate the use of AI best practices and tools to automate workflows, reduce manual toil, and improve overall program efficiency.
  • Drive alignment across teams, organizations, and product areas (PAs) to reach consensus on product direction, key business metrics, and technical feasibility alongside innovation and manage technical dependencies across the stack to ensure the monetization platform remains high-performing and reliable.
  • Architect scalable processes and introduce governance frameworks to reduce organizational complexity and improve global communication.
