Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 9 years of experience as an HR business partner or HR generalist supporting leaders at global companies.
  • Experience in organizational effectiveness, including workforce planning and organizational design.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with HR in one or more of the following areas: organizational design, succession planning, performance management, business consulting, compensation and rewards, recognition programs, employee engagement, coaching and development, talent management, talent acquisition, data analysis, and employee relations.
  • Ability to support tech and non-tech level VP leaders with global remits.
  • Ability to work within constraints as well as to challenge the status quo.
  • Ability to analyze data, understand trends and develop recommendations for action based on the analysis.
  • Ability to be comfortable with ambiguity and being a part of deeply complex strategy discussions.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.

As a People Partner, you will support VPs across the Research, Tech and Society and Learning and Sustainability organizations. These organizations are global and collaborate closely with multiple organizations across Google to deliver on our mission and objectives. Our missions include, and are not limited to, solving fundamental problems in science and engineering to benefit people’s lives around the world; connecting research, people and ideas to shape and advance our most ambitious innovations and initiatives and their impact on users and society for the better, and responsibly; advancing Google's role in increasing access to learning and education around the world, and, leading cross-company environmental and supply-chain sustainability strategy for our products and operations.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $171000 - $248000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Build trusted relationships with VPs and executive leaders, providing strategic guidance and influence on people and organizational matters.
  • Collaborate closely with key leaders, CoS, and POps CoEs to design and implement a robust People Strategy, adapting it to deliver measurable impact and align with business outcomes.
  • Navigate complex people and organizational challenges, balancing competing priorities to provide sound guidance and recommendations.
  • Provide data and strategic insights to guide leadership decisions and develop proactive solutions for organizational health, culture, design, and talent management.
  • Prepare and influence leaders, teams, and organizations through organizational changes to successfully deliver against the People strategy. Identify organizational and talent gaps to execute business strategy, evaluating the talent landscape to inform resourcing and development plans.
