Regulatory Counsel and Manager, Regulatory Response

Minimum qualifications:

  • JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.
  • 7 years of experience with legal, regulatory and litigation matters, including addressing, minimizing, and avoiding regulatory risk.
  • Experience managing teams.
  • Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.

Preferred qualifications:

  • In depth experience engaging in litigation, enforcement defense, investigations, or engaging with regulators.
  • Ability to see the big picture and make connections across teams and issues; strong business judgment and strategic thinking.
  • Process-oriented and highly organized to handle complex matters and multiple stakeholders under tight deadlines.
  • Proactive approach to anticipating issues and solving problems, with a bias toward action. Comfortable with ambiguity and managing through influence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, time management, and analytical skills.

As the global regulatory framework shifts and AI changes the way we work, Regulatory Affairs is transforming how we execute our mission at scale. We are seeking a lawyer with experience in regulatory engagement or defense, and a passion for leveraging AI and agentic solutions to lead our new Standards, Operations, and Scaled Resolution team.

In this role, you will sit at the critical center of legal advisory work, operational innovation, and matter execution. You will lead a high-performing team of tech-forward Program Managers (PgMs) and advise on how we leverage AI to scale our matter management and execution safely, ensuring that our shift toward automated, human-in-the-loop regulatory workflows is legally sound and defensible.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $252000 - $352000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the new Standards, Operations, and Scaled Resolution team, advising on the long-term strategic roadmap to maintain unparalleled investigative integrity amidst rapid organizational and technological scaling.
  • Oversee the strategic execution of certain matters and processes across Regulatory Affairs, advising on the development of highly efficient, AI-forward workflows and supporting technical solutions.
  • Forge high-impact partnerships with leaders across RA and Alphabet to unify and harmonize relevant protocols, ensuring a cohesive, resilient, and standardized global program.
  • Demonstrate goals and the ability to influence accelerating decision-making and resolution.
