Software Engineer, Infrastructure, Public Sector

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 2 years of experience deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting infrastructure or large - scale distributed systems.
  • Must possess an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance, and the willingness to undergo a polygraph.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with Linux/Unix environments, Kubernetes, and network administration (LAN/WAN).
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation tools.
  • Experience managing core hardware components such as network switches, firewalls, storage systems, and HSMs in a data center environment.
  • Understanding of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), group policies, and hardening practices for secure environments.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical timelines and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.

In this role, you will be part of the Cloud Expansion Air-Gapped team, focusing on a deployment engineering profile to build and secure sovereign cloud platforms. You will ensure our systems deliver reliability and operate effectively within secure environments. As a Software Engineer, you will plan and execute project work, deliver end-to-end tasks towards goals, and participate in design with guidance. You will focus on the practical deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of air-gapped solutions like Google Distributed Cloud (GDC), while managing and installing core infrastructure technologies.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $147000 - $211000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute project work, manage priorities, and drive progress. Participate in system design for cloud expansion with senior guidance.
  • Deploy and configure air-gapped solutions like Google Distributed Cloud (GDC). Install and configure core infrastructure: network switches, firewalls, block/object storage, servers, and hardware security modules (HSMs).
  • Identify deployment requirement issues and help the team course-correct. Triage infrastructure errors and address commonly escalated issues.
  • Leverage scripting and automation to improve deployment, configuration, and management for air-gapped solutions, reducing systemic toil.
  • Communicate deployment knowledge within and across teams. Identify stakeholders and contribute to cross-team collaboration, coordinating timelines and objectives for assigned components.
