Sales Strategy and Operations Manager, Public Sector

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in Go-to-Market Strategy, Sales Operations, Strategy and Operations, Management Consulting, Finance, or Program Management.
  • Experience with core business operations (e.g., annual business planning, headcount management, running business reviews, or target setting).
  • Experience working with executive-level clients or stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or other relevant advanced degree.
  • Experience leveraging analytical skills (e.g. financial modeling, Google Sheets, SQL, Looker, etc.) to problem solve, influence business leadership, measure outcomes, and evolve recommendations based on results.
  • Experience tailoring and delivering compelling reporting and presentations by audience, asking strategic questions, and leading conversations that drive results and efficiencies.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and influencing without authority to drive operational excellence, successful delivery of priority initiatives, process improvements, and change management.
  • Understanding Enterprise cloud technologies, emerging artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, and the evolving PublicSector market landscape.

As part of the Google Public Sector Specialty Sales Strategy and Operations (StratOps) team, your core mission is simple: provide better support to Googlers, customers, and partners to accelerate high-growth specialty revenue. You will be a part of an entrepreneurial team focused on empowering our specialized sales, removing operational friction, and driving the adoption of next-generation solutions like Gemini, Mandiant, and Google Workspace across the public sector. You will help build Google’s business and ensure customers can transform their operations through planet-scale AI, modern collaboration, and secure-by-design technologies by driving operational excellence.Google Public Sector brings the magic of Google to the mission of government and education with solutions purpose-built for enterprises. We focus on helping United States public sector institutions accelerate their digital transformations, and we continue to make significant investments and grow our team to meet the complex needs of local, state and federal government and educational institutions.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $152000 - $221000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional leadership (Sales, Product, Finance, Compensation, Business Intelligence, Marketing) to drive alignment on business goals, forecasting, and strategic planning for assigned sales teams.
  • Lead the annual planning cycles, including the development of business plans, operating models, resource allocation, territory optimization, and quota design, while maintaining rigorous standards for data quality and enrichment to support US territory planning and goal setting.
  • Structure and execute operational and strategic initiatives by developing comprehensive work plans, synthesizing complex data, leading critical analyses, and delivering actionable recommendations to leadership.
  • Oversee the forecasting cadence, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) data integrity, and business reporting to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Act as a critical escalation point to identify and resolve operational friction in the agreement cycle, streamlining workflows to maximize the time sales representatives spend in the field engaging with customers.
