Consumer Electronics Retailer Sales Manager (English, Japanese)

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in carrier retail sales and excellent partner negotiation/management, including co-marketing and executing complex legal agreements.
  • Ability to lead non-hierarchical, multi-country, and cross-functional teams effectively across different geographies.
  • Strong communication skills to interact comfortably and influence executive management at both Google and partner organizations.
  • Sharp, detail-oriented investigative skills to summarize complex issues, build financial forecasts, and create product adoption models.
  • Proven track record of managing and delivering multiple large-scale projects simultaneously within fast-moving, dynamic environments.

Google's line of products and services to our clients never stops growing. The Partnerships Development team is responsible for seeking and exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Equipped with your business acumen and extensive product knowledge, you are right on the front line of interacting with our partners, and helping them find ways to grow using Google's newest product offerings. Your knowledge of relevant verticals and relationships with key industry players will help shape our great applications and content for products such as YouTube, Google TV and Commerce.

Channel sales and activations (CSA) team mission is to drive business across third-party retail and supporting channels (i.e call centre, ISP contact centre, physical retail) through driving the consumer journey in a unified and seamless customer experience across all possible touch points.

Google Hardware (#madebygoogle) is a core part of Google’s strategy, and Google Japan is a country in terms of focus for Google with devices. The CE (Consumer Electronics) retail channel is a substantial sales channel in Japan.

As a Consumer Electronics (CE) Retailer Sales Manager within Consumer Service Alliance (CSA), you will discuss directly with top CE retailer Headquarters (HQ) to drive the business of Pixel. You will build and maintain relationships with the largest CE retailers in Japan, understanding the overall market and the core drivers for increasing business and market share.

You will plan go-to-market and promotion executions, resolve issues, analyze and track key metrics to identify trends. You will create templates and set directions for the CE retailer channel designed to exceed sales volume and business goals of Google hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and build strong direct relationships with key CE retailer stakeholders, negotiating directly with top CE retailer headquarters and executive-level to drive Pixel sell-out and secure promote and program enhancements.
  • Develop and deliver sales and go-to-market plans to deliver on agreed goals for the CE channel, including sell-out, market share, accessory sales, and budget management.
  • Build a strong understanding of the overall market and drivers for increasing sell-out, while developing and maintaining engaged analysis and market insights to grow market share.
  • Track and manage budgets, analyze key metrics to identify trends, evaluate the ROI of promotions or new business opportunities, and develop and deliver performance reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to structure and execute business initiatives, develop work plans, and communicate final recommendations, while ensuring prompt and proper resolution of partner business issues.
