Software Engineer II, Agent Development Kit

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
  • 1 year of experience with data structures and algorithms.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience contributing to open-source projects or managing developer communities.
  • Familiarity with Generative AI technologies or agentic frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform services or similar cloud technologies.
  • Passion for developer tooling and improving developer productivity.

In this role, you will contribute to the engineering evolution and adoption of Agent Development Kits (ADKs) across AI platforms and the broader developer ecosystem. You will help enhance core capabilities and integrations for Java, Kotlin, and Go ADKs, enabling developers globally to build, deploy, and scale production-ready AI agents across environments.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the core capabilities, performance, and developer experience of Go, Java, and Kotlin ADKs to support a global developer base.
  • Support widespread ADK adoption by assisting with deep integrations across key AI platforms.
  • Participate in the design and deployment of tooling, libraries, and frameworks that optimize the AI agent lifecycle, including testing, debugging, deployment, and observability.
  • Collaborate with internal first-party (1P) and external third-party (3P) developers to gather feedback and help translate their needs into new features for the AI agent ecosystem.
