Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • Experience with file systems and Linux kernel internals.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with AI/ML workloads.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform).
  • Knowledge of open source.

The Storage AI/ML organization builds the AI/ML specialized storage infrastructure that supports Google Cloud’s most significant business priorities. We focus on developing high-scale systems designed to meet the emerging requirements of AI and Machine Learning workloads.


GCSFuse product’s mission is to be the fastest and simplest file client for AI/ML workload for GCP. Our products have been growing fast in the last few years on the ground up to success. We are now focusing beyond that on hyper scale performance and masterclass observability and debuggability.

Responsibilities

  • Own all aspects of the immediate area of work, typically designing and implementing projects that span multiple quarters with minimal supervision. Be able to grow as a subject matter expert (SME) of the assigned area.
  • Scope ambiguous problems, research possible solutions/technologies, and recommend solutions considering short-term and long-term needs.
  • Lead and set technical direction and priorities projects with a small team of engineers (3-4). Perform design and implementation of high-complexity features. Deliver robust, production-ready code for storage solutions that address the specific demands of AI/ML workloads.
  • Act as a point of contact for cross-functional partners, aligning objectives and timelines with adjacent teams.
  • Influence beyond yourself, impacting team members and adjacent teams.
