Accounting Solutions Lead, Revenue Platforms

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)/Chartered Accountant (CA) or other relevant accounting professional certification.
  • 10 years of experience in accounting or related field or related function, or 8 years with an advanced degree of accounting, business, or finance.
  • Experience working with quote-to-report (Q2R) business processes or financial enterprise systems, such as SAP, ERPs, or billing and payments platforms.
  • Experience managing strategy and transformation initiatives, requiring system architecture review and solutioning.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Strong investigative and problem-solving skills, with experience in developing leadership-ready artifacts such as presentations and proposals that clearly articulate insights and recommendations.
  • Understanding of quote-to-report processes/finance teams, including revenue accounting, month end close processes and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated success in self-directing work across multiple initiatives in an unstructured, fast-paced environment; comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage and implement AI and other automation technologies to transform manual workflows, solve complex business issues, and scale team impact.

About the job

The Revenue Platforms team’s mission is to advance digitalization across Alphabet’s Quote-to-Report (Q2R) processes, enabling business for every product, anywhere, seamlessly and correctly. Within this organization, Accounting Solutions focuses its work at the critical intersection of Revenue Accounting processes and the systems that support them. We design and deploy digital-first solutions in partnership with Engineering to solve complex financial issues across Alphabet’s business models.

In this role, within Accounting Solutions, you will be at the forefront of shaping how Google’s business systems evolve. This is a high impact, strategic role focused on defining the AI-driven future of the Quote-to-Report (Q2R) space. You will be responsible for identifying core system capabilities, architecting solutions for scaling business models such as Subscriptions, and partnering with Payments Engineering to re-engineer global processes.

You will own the definition of a long-term guiding goal and roadmap, working beyond tactical fixes to execute transformational change that ensures our financial systems meet the complex demands of Google's dynamic landscape.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $164000 - $239000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Lead the charge in identifying and implementing how AI can transform Q2R, transitioning from manual activities toward autonomous revenue accounting, month end close and financial reporting activities.
  • Identify and define core system capabilities and architecture needs required to support global business models, ensuring scalable integration for high-growth areas like Subscriptions and Outcome-based pricing.
  • Define and own the multi year roadmap for Finance system and process transformations, focusing on supporting a cohesive, future-proof goal. Define and track KPIs that measure the impact of transformation initiatives.
  • Act as the primary bridge to Payments Engineering to ensure upstream flows are architected for downstream excellence, drive initiatives to optimize end to end financial processes and resolve efficiency gaps.
