Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience in product management or related field.
  • 10 years of experience building and scaling consumer products such as Ads or Search.
  • Experience managing and mentoring a team and working with cross-functional and cross-product area partners.
  • Experience in quality, ranking, measurement or analytics products.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience building and managing online advertising products, working in enterprise or consumer ecosystems, and liaising with cross-functional partners.
  • Exceptional writing and communications skills.
  • Track record of working closely with engineering partners and converting complex technical concepts to technical and business audiences.
  • Track record of success in the full life cycle of product management.

The Discover and Gmail Ads team represent a fast-growing slice of Google’s Ads business. This team is on a journey to build these growing properties by balancing advertiser performance with a strong “user-first” mandate.

The Google Ads team is seeking a Director of Product Management to lead the Discover and Gmail Ads businesses. You will own the product roadmap for delivering the best possible ads experience for users, and the greatest possible value for advertisers. Both surfaces are in growth mode, and you will be responsible for the entire user-side experience, from auction and quality to inventory and formats. You will lead a team of 9 product managers and will ultimately be responsible to grow the combined business.

We are constantly innovating to deliver the most effective advertising and commerce opportunities of tomorrow.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $281000 - $392000 (USD) + 30% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a product leader, building, managing, and executing a product vision, strategy, and roadmap to support two products primed for significant growth.
  • Manage a team of 9 talented product management professionals in partnership with an engineering and user experience organization of 100+. Mentor and help the team grow into positions of influence and scale.
  • Work closely with the Gmail and Discover consumer teams to drive a joint organic product strategy that adds value to users, not just advertisers.
  • Synthesize and drive product strategy from interactions with business stakeholders to our Legal and Policy teams.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams across Google Ads to advocate for and execute your vision.
