Product Technology Manager, gDATA

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience troubleshooting technical issues for internal/external partners or customers.
  • Experience in data products and technologies such as SQL, data architecture and data governance.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience identifying business needs, and defining or building data solutions to address business needs in a customer service environment.
  • Experience using AI technologies to augment, improve or automate the development process.
  • Ability to collaborate, build consensus, and drive technical decisions with complex cross-functional stakeholder groups, involving both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent technical leadership, project management, investigative problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

The Data, Architecture, Tools and Analytics (gDATA's) mission is to solve the needs of gTech Strategy and Operations by using data science to make Google Ads products more usable for customers. By pioneering advanced solutions in machine learning, forecasting, and generative AI, the team empowers customers, agents, and internal partners. Their approach involves identifying key business issues, developing innovative models, and collaborating closely with partners to translate findings into actionable insights.

As a Product Technology Manager on the gDATA team, you will help solve the evolving needs of gTech strategy and operations, transforming it into a data-driven powerhouse. Our core mission is to make Google Ads products more usable for our customers by pioneering advanced solutions in machine learning, forecasting, and generative AI. In this changing, collaborative environment, your technical skills will have a direct impact on empowering our customers, support agents, and engineering partners for success in the AI/ML age. Your primary focus will be to work closely with management to align Data Science and Data Engineering resources to support the security, stability, maintenance plan, and forward-looking roadmaps of our core data products (i.e. ML classification and prediction models, AI powered insights engines, etc.).

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $126000 - $181000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Work with data science SMEs to develop and execute the overall roadmap for gDATA's growing portfolio of data products (i.e. ML classification and prediction models, LLM powered insights engines).
  • Work with Management to determine the data science and engineering resource allocation plan to support business as usual (BAU) maintenance and roadmap execution.
  • Lead communications between data science subject matter experts (SMEs), engineering partners, and broader business stakeholders regarding data infrastructure stability and planned changes.
  • Lead a governance structure that will ensure gDATA's data products leverage the latest tech stack, conform to best practices, and to meet the needs of business stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to better leverage AI within the data product portfolio to improve quality and efficiency.
