Deployment Engineer, GDC Air Gapped, Google Cloud Public Sector

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field such as Computer Networking, Information Security, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience automating infrastructure provisioning, developer operations, or continuous integration, delivery, designing, building, and deploying of cloud-based solution architectures.
  • Experience with physical and virtual infrastructure, operating systems, or virtualization.
  • Experience in scripting and development languages (e.g., Python, Go, Bash) for Automation.
  • Experience in either Linux/Docker/Kubernetes technologies or Windows and Active Directory environments.
  • Due to the sensitive nature of this role, candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a level 2 security clearance (SÜ2) under the German Classification Act (SÜG).

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's degree in Business, Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Certifications in Google Cloud or Google Distributed Cloud and advanced architectural and operational knowledge.
  • Experience with large scale Public Sector engagements.
  • Experience leading cloud-based transformation programs for highly regulated customers.
  • Experience working with new and emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the cloud and broader enterprise technology transformation space.
  • Experience collaborating with channel partners, systems integrators, and third-party developers to deliver high-impact solutions.

Google Distributed Cloud air-gapped (GDCag) is a turn key private cloud offering. It includes everything you need to launch a cloud offering, including software, hardware, tools, operating process, runbooks, and training, customer/partner provides the facilities, networks, and staffing. As a skilled Systems Development Engineer, you will be responsible for deploying GDCag solutions at customer sites as well as internal reference deployments. You will build deep expertise in deploying and operating Google Distributed Cloud air-gapped (GDCag) solutions.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Germany: €100000 - €102000 (EUR) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Deploy GDCag solutions at customer sites as well as internal reference deployments.
  • Perform complex day to day troubleshooting and resolution of Infrastructure issues (Network, Storage, Servers, OS, Kubernetes, etc.).
  • Interact with customers as well as internal development organizations in order to accomplish shared goals successfully.
  • Participate in Customer, Partner, and Internal team deployments and training which require international travel.
  • Contribute to train-the-trainer programs to equip Google partners with the knowledge and skills to effectively conduct customer deployments independently.
