  • Experience working with digital advertising systems or online advertising metrics.

About the job

As a Staff Data Scientist and Technical Lead Manager for Search Ads in the Ads Metrics Data Science team, you will lead a team of data scientists directly contributing to Google's revenue growth. You will support the Search Ads and Google Experience organization in developing some of the most important ad products at Google, which are complex, advanced, and rapidly growing.

In this role, you will guide product development and executive decisions with rigorous data science, measuring the long-term impact of changes on users, advertisers, and Google's systems with innovative experiment designs and deep data analysis. In this role, you will work closely with engineering and product management collaborators to improve products and partner with ads executives to drive long-term business value. US: $192000 - $279000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of junior and senior data scientists, serving as a role model and professional coach to develop colleagues' capabilities, stretch their skills, and uphold high standards of accountability.
  • Initiate and execute complex, ambiguous statistical analysis and modeling projects to optimize the Search Ads serving system and deliver rigorous, actionable insights that drive revenue growth.
  • Design and implement innovative experiment designs, statistical models, and measurement frameworks to analyze the long-term impact of product changes on users, advertisers, and Google's systems.
  • Partner and align with engineering, product management, and executive leadership, as well as cross-functional stakeholders in sales and customer solutions, to guide product strategy and assist in decision-making.
  • Manage project life-cycles by covering problem definition, metrics development, data extraction and manipulation, visualization, and presentation of findings to stakeholders across multiple organizations.
