About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Mission of the team: The ML Data organization was formed at the beginning of 2024 with a focus on improving ML data operations, governance, and responsible practices across Google. Our ML Data teams collaborate with other teams such as Cloud, Core, Google DeepMind, Google Research, gTech, Knowledge and Information (K&I) and Labs.

As larger models become crucial to Google's success, the development of ML is becoming more data-centric. Our teams have been working on the critical paths for all recent and upcoming LLM launches at Google, including Bard, Gemini, Magi, and Cloud.

In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and product leadership to harness data and data systems to accelerate the development of extensive ML models. You will provide easy access to high-quality data for any AI task, whether it's human, synthetic, licensed, or Google native. You will secure AI models with tamper-proof lineage, transparent approvals and secured storage for accelerated, accountable product and model launches. You will also evaluate, track, remediate, and prevent the recurrence of safety risks.

The Cloud Applied AI (AAI) powers business growth with Gemini Enterprise. Our portfolio includes Gemini Enterprise for Customer Experience (Shopping Agent, CX Agent Studio, Agent Assist, Vertex AI Search - Commerce, Customer Experience Insights), along with other vertical and domain packaged solutions. We enable high adoption and speed to value by building solutions that are quickly deployed, delivering new 0-to-1 capabilities with startup agility. Team members operate at the forefront of AI, collaborating directly with model builders with unprecedented speed. Join us to work on cutting-edge projects and shape the future of AI in a fast-paced, collaborative, and impactful environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead program execution: Lead programs for tamper-proof lineage, transparent approvals and secured storage. Additionally, you may lead programs in evaluation of safety risks and data acquisition.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work with engineering, product management, and other partners to define all workstreams, requirements, schedules, resources, and milestones.
  • Communicate effectively: Provide project status updates to various audiences, including cross-functional teams and executives.
  • Prioritize and align: Drive feature planning and build cohesion and alignment across stakeholders.
  • Exhibit technical leadership: Demonstrate technical knowledge and thought leadership to enhance project efficiency.
