Customer Engineer, Digital Natives

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience with cloud native architecture and development methodologies, including modernizing legacy applications and application performance profiling and tuning, in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in technical sales or consulting in cloud computing, application development and cloud native architectures.
  • Experience in assessing and building cloud native software architectures including application runtimes, databases, serverless environments, container and Kubernetes stacks and event-driven designs.
  • Expertise in the area of application development for AI use cases, including the integration with AI (via APIs or MCP), the integration with agents (Agent Development Kit or Agent2Agent Protocol) or the deployment of AI-empowered apps.
  • Expertise with open source technology (e.g., CNCF projects) and understanding of cloud native application development or data analytics technologies.

As a Customer Engineer, you will partner with technical sales teams as a hybrid cloud subject matter expert to differentiate Google Cloud to our customers in the Startup ecosystem. You will help prospective and existing customers and partners understanding the power of Google Cloud, develop cloud solutions and architectures to solve business issues, engage in proof-of-concepts, and troubleshoot any technical questions and roadblocks. You will understand customers business and technical requirements, and present solutions on Google Cloud. You will work in a data center environment as it relates to modernization, and cloud-native architecture. You will also work with cloud application architectures, networking, microservices, and container orchestrators. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Germany: €92000 - €94000 (EUR) + 42.86% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify business opportunities related, understand key customer objections, and develop the strategy to achieve a technical win in relation to the cloud native application architecture.
  • Educate startups and scaleups on the value proposition of Google Cloud, and lead architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful adoption of GCP technology deployment in the cloud.
  • Collaborate closely with sales teams to formulate and execute a sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of GCP.
  • Work with cross-functional teams and partners to develop technical campaigns and drive pipeline creation and conversion.
  • Build deep relationships with executive technical individuals at customers to enable them to be cloud advocates.
