Senior UX Engineer, YouTube Live

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in front-end development, technical UX design, or prototyping.
  • Experience in application development in at least one platform/area (e.g., web, iOS, Android, CompDes, XR).
  • Experience in Rapid Prototyping.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 7 years of experience developing responsive, adaptive, and performant websites and applications.
  • 6 years of experience as a front-end developer, UX Engineer, creative or design technologist, or in a prototyping design environment.
  • Experience in front-end technologies (e.g., web, mobile platforms) and experience in building robust, high-fidelity prototypes and production-level code to validate and deliver user experiences.
  • Strong track record of collaborating effectively with Product Managers, UX Designers, and Software Engineers.
  • Evidence of providing technical or design leadership, guiding implementation strategies, and actively contributing innovative ideas rather than just executing on defined tasks.

Joining a multi-disciplinary UX team, you will collaborate with Engineering and Product Management, using user insights to create industry-leading products. In this role, you will have a passion for live streaming and video creation to bridge the gap between broadcast and conversation, crafting experiences and tools that enable real-time interactivity. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $159000 - $231000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Develop and iterate on robust, high-fidelity prototypes and technical proofs-of-concept to validate design concepts and influence product direction, potentially integrating with live data.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, performant, and accessible front-end implementations that meet user needs and product standards.
  • Anticipate potential technical or design challenges and proactively develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Drive consensus and build strong collaborative relationships with cross-functional partners (e.g., Product Managers, UX Designers, Software Engineers) to align priorities, and technical feasibility.
  • Contribute to and evolve shared design systems, component libraries, or tooling that enhance UX consistency, development efficiency, and product excellence across teams.
