Group Product Manager, Lens, Consumer Shopping

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
  • 5 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch (e.g., ideation to execution, end-to-end, 0 to 1, etc).
  • Experience building and deploying consumer-facing products.
  • Experience building and designing AI-powered products or features.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a technology or business related field.
  • 5 years of experience in a role preparing and delivering technical presentations to senior leadership.
  • 5 years of experience in software development or engineering.
  • Experience building AI-native products or modernizing legacy architectures using Generative AI and LLM technologies.
  • Experience with products balancing two-sided marketplaces.
  • Subject matter expert in retail products, including emerging trends such as agentic commerce.

Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

The Consumer Shopping team is responsible for building the platforms and experiences that serve the users and ecosystems. The mission for Google Consumer Shopping is to create seamless and coherent shopping journeys across Google, from inspiration, Research and Consideration (R&C), purchase, and cross-funnel, as well as AI-powered experiences that not only feel uniquely tailored to consumers' needs but also deliver great value for merchants. We provide comprehensive results and help shoppers to discover, compare, and purchase products across Google surfaces. We support and partner with the entire retail ecosystem, from large retailers to small local shops, to help them build their brand, be discovered and foster lasting customer relationships, and build sustainable businesses to thrive in today’s omnichannel world.

Google Ads is helping power the open internet with the best technology that connects and creates value for people, publishers, advertisers, and Google. We’re made up of multiple teams, building Google’s Advertising products including search, display, shopping, travel and video advertising, as well as analytics. Our teams create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads. We help grow businesses of all sizes from small businesses, to large brands, to YouTube creators, with effective advertiser tools that deliver measurable results. We also enable Google to engage with customers at scale.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $240000 - $334000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the strategic roadmap for Shopping with image search and Lens. Partner with cross-functional product leaders to unlock high-growth opportunities and deliver on the company’s highest-priority e-commerce ambitions.
  • Maintain a pulse on global retail trends, evolving consumer behaviors, and breakthrough technologies to keep our product suite ahead of the curve.
  • Collaborate seamlessly across Google teams including Product, Engineering, Marketing, Legal, and Finance, to ensure tight strategic integration and execution against core business objectives.
  • Lead innovation by motivating engineering teams to build and deploy complex software solutions, with a strong focus on modernizing core architecture using advanced ML and LLMs.
