Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 11 years of industry experience in advertising, consultative sales, business development, or IT, or 8 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Ability to communicate in Japanese and English fluently to interact with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in sales leadership, enterprise technology sales, digital advertising, or strategic consulting.
  • Proven ability to navigate matrixed enterprise organizations and build long-term trust with C-suite stakeholders.
  • Strong aptitude for framing business challenges through the lens of AI, data strategy, and multi-channel marketing.
  • Deep domain expertise in the E-commerce, marketplace, retail media, or digital native sectors in Japan.
  • Exceptional operational accuracy, forecasting precision, and a "bias for action" in rapidly changing markets.

As an Industry Head, you will serve as a senior leader orchestrating next-gen commerce across Japan’s most influential digital platforms and commerce giants. Leading a high-performing account team, you will oversee strategic relationships with clients.

In this role, you will act as a future creator and change orchestrator—aligning clients' long-term business priorities with cutting-edge AI (such as Gemini Enterprise) and advanced digital advertising solutions. You are directly responsible for setting team-level strategy, driving commercial Joint Business Planning (JBP), scaling high-impact deals, delivering consistent quota excellence, and mentoring the next generation of sales talent.

Google's Large Customer Sales (LCS) teams are strategic partners and industry thought leaders to the world's leading brands and agencies. We continuously challenge how customers think about their business and how Google can support growth. We focus on helping these players navigate profound industry shifts and drive outsized business performance by competitively selling Google's full suite of advertising solutions across Search, YouTube, Measurement, and more. As a member of our LCS team, you'll have the unique opportunity to sell at the forefront of technology, collaborating with executives, influencing market-shaping strategies, and delivering tangible results that significantly impact major global businesses and drive the growth of Google.

Responsibilities

  • Define multi-year commercial strategies to deliver double-digit revenue growth, beat in-quarter quotas, and scale cross-border commerce initiatives.
  • Lead Joint Business Planning (JBP) and negotiate complex agreements across Search+ (AI Max), YouTube+ (Demand Gen), and App/Export pillars.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to C-level executives at major conglomerates and digital-native platforms, architecting win-win digital transformation models.
  • Develop high-performing account teams by fostering operational discipline, fearless innovation, and providing coaching during critical pitches and negotiations.
  • Align internal Product, Industry, and Cloud/AI teams with client business units to unlock untapped budgets and drive full-funnel enterprise solutions.
