Minimum qualifications:

  • JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.
  • 3 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.
  • Experience counseling and negotiating on professional services, security or other cloud commercial offerings.
  • Ability to communicate in English fluently, to engage with clients in the region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Proven experience in managing, negotiating with, and advising clients on structuring complex IT-law projects, technology agreements, and cloud computing transactions (including public sector and enterprise engagements).
  • Understanding of cloud computing, IT extended workforce, public and private procurement, professional services, and data privacy regulations.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and maintain a fun and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work on a broad variety of matters, and have the ability to travel and adjust to an international company environment.
  • Ability to work separately without much administrative support, demonstrating excellent organizational skills.

About the job

In this role, you will work on the most exciting legal issues as disruptive technological innovations require creative and proactive legal guidance. You will be a part of a whip-smart group of in-house lawyers and the projects and cases you take on issues you think big and differently. You will be collaborative ready to partner in initiatives that influence all aspects of the business and work with Googlers from all over the company. As an integrated part of the team, you will proactively assess legal risks, help the business close agreements and advise on products that will not only move information into the 21st century, but move information law forward as well.

You will discuss and draft commercial agreements covering a variety of Google’s Cloud products, with a focus on Cloud Consulting, FDE and Security products, working for clients in Google offices throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) and the United States. You will also be involved and assist in product launches, litigation matters, and regulatory investigations as needed. You will advise client leadership on go-to-market strategy and legal compliance for all matters related to Cloud human services, including providing legal terms, agreements, playbooks, and enablement to scale legal support.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Germany: €164000 - €168000 (EUR) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits
Spain: €128000 - €131000 (EUR) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits
France: €144000 - €147000 (EUR) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits
Italy: €124000 - €127000 (EUR) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits
Netherlands: €160000 - €164000 (EUR) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits
Poland: zł460000 - zł471000 (PLN) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Advise EMEA Cloud Consulting (GCC), Forward Deployed Engineers (FDE) and Security Sales teams on strategy and legal compliance. Draft templates, terms, playbooks, and create enablement materials to accelerate consulting and FDE engagements.
  • Scale legal support by training and enabling sellers, legal colleagues and other key stakeholders to support agreement making effectively. Take on projects to support and negotiate general Cloud Go-To-Market needs.
  • Answer a variety of legal requests from Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Product, and other Google business clients and Legal colleagues across Europe, Middle-East and Africa (EMEA) and the United States. 
  • Advise on the compliance of Google products with specific local laws. Support litigation cases and regulatory investigations as needed.
  • Develop deep experience in a range of Google products and build effective relationships with business clients and legal colleagues in our various international offices.
