Analytical Consultant, Google Shopping Solutions

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in data analysis and visualization (e.g., Sheets and Slides), scripting (e.g., SQL) and dashboard development (e.g., Looker Studio)
  • Experience translating data into business recommendations, and creating and delivering presentations or business cases with recommendations.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working as an Analytical Consultant or in similar analytical, data-focused roles.
  • Experience in advertising from either the advertiser, agency, or other media owner side.
  • Ability to manage projects effectively from end-to-end with effective communication and planning throughout.
  • Influential approach with ability to comprehend and align needs from different stakeholders.

About the job

Google Shopping account teams work with a range of available data sources and insights to bring the best of recommendations to power merchant’s business. As an Analytical Lead, you will act as a strategic analyst, advisor and consultant, providing data supported insights, reports and tools to clients to help improve their business. You will own business initiatives across the organization due to GSS structure requiring all data to be owned and managed internally.

As part of Google Shopping, you will be part of a Customer Analytics team and will partner with technical and infrastructure teams, Account Managers and Executive Leadership to build and present integrated business opportunities based on industry trends and insights for clients worldwide. You will have demonstrated investigative expertise, business strategy and proven ability to solve complex business problems, while showing willingness to work in a dynamic environment solving for ambiguity. You would be providing solutions ranging from in-depth customer analysis to a scaled report serving multiple customers across the portfolio.

The Global Business Organization (GBO) is the engine that powers Google’s full ecosystem of products and services to help customers and partners succeed and grow. GBO includes the commercial arms of Ads sellers, business development teams, and customer services and support, as well as overlay programs that enable coordinated engagement with Google's most complex and important customers and partners.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities

  • Use your knowledge of data analytics and customer insights to develop solutions for client business and shopping challenges. Collaborate with Sales, GTM and Finance to develop a range of customer solutions, from bespoke client offerings to scalable solutions across the retail ecosystem.
  • Act as a retail industry advocate and analyst to surface key trends. Consult with leadership and account management teams on opportunities associated with trends and potential business impact.
  • Advise and coach the sales team on methodologies for designing recommendations via customer analytics and data insights. 
  • Seek out key decision makers, challenge the status quo and influence decisions. Foster and cultivate client relationships with front line sales teams in the organization
  • Partner with external partners on setting up data infrastructure for the comparison shopping service (CSS) ecosystem to bring full investigative capabilities to customers.
