Commercial Strategy & Operations Manager

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Management or a related field and 8 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a Commercial Strategy & Operations Manager-related occupation.
  • Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Management or a related field or a related field, and 6 years of experience in the job offered or in a Commercial Strategy & Operations Manager-related occupation.
  • Position requires 6 years of experience in the following: Problem solving using structured methodologies like DMAIC or 8D for Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and applying data-driven critical thinking to resolve ambiguous business issues and systemic process failures. Team leadership using Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban) and people management, including the implementation of OKRs and 360-degree performance feedback. Navigating teams and stakeholders through organizational ambiguity and change by executing structured change management methodologies, including comprehensive impact analysis and risk mitigation. Executive stakeholder management and influence through strategic alignment sessions, translating complex operational data into compelling executive-level business cases and financial summaries. Revenue Operations (RevOps), Sales Operations, or Go-to-Market (GTM) Operations, focused on optimizing the Lead-to-Cash (L2C) process, managing the CRM tech stack, and developing territory design and forecasting models.

Google Customer Solutions (GCS) works with businesses and advertising agencies of all sizes, from local small business owners to mid-market enterprises to large organizations that spend millions of advertising dollars with Google. GCS Revenue Strategy and Operations (RSO) teams lead the strategy, design, planning and operations of a highly cross-functional landscape, to deliver unified and scalable programs that generate incremental Ads revenue growth for Google. We stay focused on aligning the highest-level company priorities with strong daily operations, and help evolve early-stage ideas into future-growth areas. Experts in delivering strategy and process improvement, team members are strategic thinkers with a pragmatic approach to delivering high impact at scale.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $186,000 - $270,000 + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits determined by role, level, and location. Position reports to the Google New York, NY office & may allow for a hybrid schedule as per Google policy.

The Global Business Organization (GBO) is the engine that powers Google’s full ecosystem of products and services to help customers and partners succeed and grow. GBO includes the commercial arms of Ads sellers, business development teams, and customer services and support, as well as overlay programs that enable coordinated engagement with Google's most complex and important customers and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead sophisticated business analyses and advanced modeling to translate data into actionable insights for strategic decision-making
  • Develop comprehensive business strategies and operational plans that solve complex challenges and drive incremental growth
  • Influence executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders with data-driven insights to adopt and implement strategic initiatives
  • Organize core operating cadences and drive process improvements to enhance business effectiveness and operational efficiency
  • Conduct in-depth research on market trends, customer behaviors, and the competitive landscape to identify new opportunities for scale. Manage large-scale strategic projects from conception to completion, defining scope, creating roadmaps, and ensuring timely delivery.
