Software Engineering Manager, Enterprise Data Platform

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
  • 3 years of experience in a people management role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of technical leadership experience, supervision/team leadership role.
  • Experience designing and implementing efficient large-scale distributed systems through the full project life-cycle.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with advanced AI/ML analytics solutions involving machine learning and statistical analytics.
  • Experience implementing and integrating third-party applications within Finance, Supply Chain, Human Resource (HR), Marketing etc.
  • Conceptual, logical and physical data modeling and data architecture experience.

Enterprise Data Platform and Governance Team (EDP and G) is responsible for Data Architecture, Data Engineering, and Analytics technologies that empower our partners in engineering and business to deliver critical corporate functions.

As an Engineering Manager, you will help conceive and deliver solutions to meet the data and analytics needs. You will drive high-impact projects to deliver data management and investigative solutions for our partners across Google.At Corp Eng, we build world-leading business solutions that scale a more helpful Google for everyone. As Google’s IT organization, we provide end-to-end solutions for organizations across Google. We deliver the right tools, platforms, and experiences for all Googlers as they create more helpful products and services for everyone. In the simplest terms, we are Google for Googlers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic programs to build Artificial Intelligence (AI)-Ready Data products and enable enterprise data infrastructure for highly impactful, large-scale Agentic use cases.
  • Advocate the design and implementation of semantic architectures that embed critical business context into the data layer, empowering next-generation AI agents to reason effectively.
  • Influence the Connected Data strategy to enable consistent, secure data assets based on canonical entity schemas to support richer, higher-level enterprise insights.
  • Create and maintain logical and physical database designs, prioritizing property-graph models and flexible data architectures where appropriate to support complex semantic layers.
  • Ensure the integrity of data, establishing strict security and governance procedures to protect and maintain the highest level of confidentiality and data security.
