Strategic Partner Manager, YouTube Product Partnerships

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience, including business development, channel and partner development, partner management, or management consulting.
  • Experience structuring, negotiating, and managing partnership agreements involving either OTT subscription services, telco distribution deals, or media agreements.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Portuguese fluently to engage with local stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working autonomously in a dynamic, ever-changing, and collaborative environment.
  • Ability to identify potential business opportunities, assess financial/business benefit, structure agreements, and discuss terms with strategic partners.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish fluently to engage with local stakeholders.

Google's line of products and services to our clients never stops growing. The Partnerships Development team is responsible for seeking and exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Equipped with your business acumen and extensive product knowledge, you are right on the front line of interacting with our partners, and helping them find ways to grow using Google's newest product offerings. Your knowledge of relevant verticals and relationships with key industry players will help shape our great applications and content for products such as YouTube, Google TV and Commerce.

The YouTube Product Partnerships team drives partner strategy and manages the key relationships that help to make YouTube’s products more universally accessible and useful. We own the business side of new products and initiatives, and our strategic partnerships seek to build, distribute, grow, and protect YouTube’s products globally. We know how to assess partnership opportunities in any situation, define a strategy, and work closely within our team, and with Product, Marketing, and other cross-functional stakeholders to drive critical partnerships that help evolve our business.

In this role, you will help drive growth for YouTube subscription services (YouTube Premium and Primetime Channels) and the Living Room ecosystem (e.g., Smart TVs, Pay TV operators, streaming sticks, gaming consoles) in Latam by managing strategic partnerships that generate new subscriptions and boost watch time for YouTube in the region. Success in this role requires understanding the current media landscape, defining and structuring strategic partnerships, applying a growth strategy to the business, negotiating agreements and exemplary partner management.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

Responsibilities

  • Lead negotiations and structure complex agreements for YouTube across multiple lines of business, including first-of-a-kind partnerships and new markets kick off.
  • Oversee all aspects of business development and partnerships management, including sourcing, evaluating, drafting and negotiating agreements internally and externally.
  • Serve as the main day-to-day point of contact for a variety of top partners, executing growth initiatives and securing seamless operational flow.
  • Navigate cross-functional complexity across YouTube and Google to ensure strong execution of deals and initiatives, representing our partners and our region.
  • Analyze data, understand partnership effectiveness, and seek ways to optimize growth, influencing the broader partnerships team with key learnings and strategies for future programs. Contribute to refining YouTube’s strategy, including preparing presentations.
