Group Product Manager, Consumer Shopping

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
  • 5 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch (e.g., ideation to execution, end-to-end, 0 to 1, etc).
  • 5 years of experience in people management, with technical leadership.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience successfully incubating new 0->1 consumer products.
  • Experience building AI native product experiences.
  • Experiences with two sided marketplaces.
  • High agency and accountability.
  • Strong customer empathy.

As a Product Management leader for Consumer Shopping, you will drive the end-to-end product goal and strategy for key strategic priorities within Google’s consumer shopping organization.

In this role, you will serve as a foremost expert in the shopping and e-commerce industry as it leads an organization of product managers dedicated to creating seamless, innovative shopping journeys for users worldwide. Users come first at Google. Nowhere is this more important than on our Advertising and Commerce team: we believe that ads and commercial information can be highly useful to our users if that information is relevant to what our users wish to find or do. Advertisers worldwide use Google Ads to promote their products; publishers use AdSense to serve relevant ads on their website; and business around the world use our products (like Google Shopping, and Google Wallet) to support their online businesses and bring users into their offline stores. We are constantly innovating to deliver the most effective advertising and commerce opportunities of tomorrow.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute Shopping strategy in collaboration with other product leaders across the company, identifying key growth opportunities and driving innovation.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and emerging trends in retail, including the latest technologies and consumer behavior.
  • Collaborate with other teams across Google, including product, engineering, marketing, legal, and finance, to ensure alignment and integration with the overall business objectives.
  • Inspire engineering teams to innovate, invent, implement and deploy complex software solutions, especially in regards to modernizing the architecture through Machine Learning (ML) and Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • Cultivate leadership talent through effective mentoring, coaching, succession planning and strategies for key talent in a fast growth, highly competitive economic environment.
