Product Solutions Engineer, Ads API

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience troubleshooting technical issues for internal/external partners or customers.
  • Experience in either system design or reading code (e.g., Java, C++, Python).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience resolving technical issues and managing customer support within a tech organization, using Ads or other APIs.
  • Familiarity with the digital advertising ecosystem or Google Ads, with proficiency in languages like Python, Java, PHP, or JavaScript.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and collaborate effectively within varied, global team environments.
  • Strong customer-facing skills to clearly convey complex technical concepts to both highly technical and non-technical audiences.
  • An empathetic, customer-first mindset with proven critical thinking to own end-to-end strategic solutions for advertisers and developers.

About the job

As a Technical Solutions Consultant, you will be responsible for the technical relationship of our largest advertising clients and/or product partners. You will lead cross-functional teams in Engineering, Sales and Product Management to leverage emerging technologies for our external clients/partners. From concept design and testing to data analysis and support, you will oversee the technical execution and business operations of Google's online advertising platforms and/or product partnerships.

You will be able to balance business and partner needs with technical constraints, develop innovative, cutting edge solutions and act as a partner and consultant to those you are working with. You will also be able to build tools and automate products, oversee the technical execution and business operations of Google's partnerships, as well as develop product strategy and prioritize projects and resources.

As a Product Support Engineer for Ads Application Programming Interface (API), you will have deep API knowledge, provide high-quality support, and own end-to-end customer and developer solutioning. You will focus on managing troubleshooting tasks, using investigative and problem-solving skills to detect and resolve issues, while advising customers on effective API implementations. You will also be a critical link between external API developers and internal stakeholders like sales and engineering, actively shaping API quality with customer feedback.

In this role, you will understand the technical complexities of online advertising, particularly Google Ads products, and possess a passion for helping customers succeed. You will solve challenging issues, acting as a technical consultant and trusted advisor for Google Ads customers.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding support across the customer journey by troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues and escalations for advertisers, sales, agencies, partners, and third-party developers who use Ads APIs.
  • Provide expert consultation to API developers to guide effective API integration, ensure integration best practices, and lead strategic technical projects to enhance the overall developer experience.
  • Develop diagnostic tools and automations on their own or in close partnership with Product and Engineering teams to streamline debugging, implement data fixes, and scale operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners including sales, product management, and engineering to deeply understand client pain points, eliminate friction, and continuously improve the end-to-end user experience.
  • Analyze data and insights to build proactive root-cause action plans for top customers, focusing on knowledge management, operational improvements, and product adoption.
