Senior Software Engineer, Ads Campaign Automation (Mandarin)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
  • 3 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin fluently to collaborate with regional partners and clients.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 5 years of experience with architecting and developing large-scale distributed systems or Ads infrastructure.
  • 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Experience with developing ads buying platforms, such as campaign automation, optimization, insights and performance diagnosis.
  • Experience in Google's ads ecosystem, including targeting, bidding, serving systems, and data analysis tools.

With your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.

In this role, you will involve in the technical strategy, scoping, and outcomes for one or more work streams. You will be navigating relationships across Product, Business, gTech, and various Ads infrastructure teams. You will work with the China and Asia-Pacific (APAC) Global Business Organization (GBO) teams to understand major issues for the customers in the region to enable improvements and win Statement of Work (SOW). You will enable product and technical evolutions based on the learning, and apply the solution to the general advertiser base.Users come first at Google. Nowhere is this more important than on our Advertising and Commerce team: we believe that ads and commercial information can be highly useful to our users if that information is relevant to what our users wish to find or do. Advertisers worldwide use Google Ads to promote their products; publishers use AdSense to serve relevant ads on their website; and business around the world use our products (like Google Shopping, and Google Wallet) to support their online businesses and bring users into their offline stores. We are constantly innovating to deliver the most effective advertising and commerce opportunities of tomorrow.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical strategy and outcomes for major work streams like new user acquisition and feed serving optimization, and go beyond immediate projects, impacting teams with engaging priorities to achieve program goals.
  • Design and execute experiments to optimize ad serving, bidding models, and retrieval systems.
  • Drive engineering excellence and mentor executive engineers while managing technical issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to resolve customer escalations and technical headwinds.
  • Guide Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) solutions for asset generation and influence designs across program goals.
