Software Engineer

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a software engineering-related occupation.
  • Position requires 2 years of experience in the following: Software development utilizing Python, C++, or Java; API design or Web development; Debugging via root cause analysis to diagnose, triage, and fix system issues; Software testing including validity, verification, performance, reliability, usability, and stress testing; and Data analysis and synthesis to draw conclusions, generate solutions, and evaluate outcomes or large-scale data processing.

About the job

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000 - $211,000 + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Learn more about benefits at Google.

Position reports to the Google office & may allow for a hybrid schedule as per Google policy.

Responsibilities

  • Write robust product or system development code while mitigating technical debt to ensure long-term maintainability and scalability.
  • Lead or participate in architectural design reviews with stakeholders to evaluate and select optimal technologies.
  • Review peer code and provide constructive feedback to enforce best practices for style, testability, and efficiency.
  • Execute comprehensive software testing beyond unit tests while enhancing automated deployment and monitoring infrastructure.
  • Triage, debug, and resolve complex system issues by analyzing root causes and their impact on service operations. Create and adapt technical documentation and educational materials based on program updates and end-user feedback.
