About the job

The Access Security Team (AST) is a critical pillar of Google's security posture. Our mission is to protect Alphabet, its products, and users at scale by building a safe and robust access ecosystem and driving access risk mitigation through technical solutions, policy guidance, and enforcement. As Senior Director, you will lead the technical strategy and infrastructure of the Access Security Team. This is a critical leadership role responsible for the underlying systems that govern access across Alphabet's production, corporate, and cloud environments. You will lead a large, high-performing organization of engineers and security professionals, driving a multi-year roadmap focused on engineering excellence, technical outlook, and the execution of next-generation, AI-powered security infrastructure.

The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.
