Tech Lead, Corporate Engineering

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience working with web applications and distributed systems.
  • Experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  • Experience programming in Java.
  • Experience integrating artificial intelligence into workflows.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
  • Experience working on internal tools within supply chain, human resources, procurement and commercials.
  • Experience working with machine learning and data modeling.

Join Corporate Engineering, the organization responsible for inventing, building, and supporting all of Google’s internal tools and systems. As a Tech Lead, you will lead projects critical to Google’s Procurement and Commercial needs, directly supporting our fast-paced business growth.

We are looking for versatile leaders enthusiastic about working on complex, full-stack problems. You will leverage your expertise in distributed computing, large-scale system design, artificial intelligence, security, and UI design to build robust systems that handle information at scale.

In this role, you will bring fresh ideas to push technology forward, developing the next-generation internal engines that power Google's operations and empower us to connect billions of users worldwide.

The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $207000 - $301000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits
