Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 3 years of experience with embedded operating systems.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
  • Experience with Linux/Kernel development.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Experience with Android BSP, Android Internals, Android Kernel.

The Google Pixel team has designed and built premium mobile devices and services that are truly aspirational and showcase the potential of the Android platform. We strive to revolutionize how people interact with newer and smarter devices at the android platform.

In this role, you will develop the whole software stack for future smarter android devices, ranging from SoC bringup all the way up to platform.
The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team responsible for delivering Pixel kernels with a relentless focus on quality and velocity.
  • Define team strategy, manage team project goals, and provide direct technical leadership for all team projects.
  • Set clear expectations with individuals based on their level and role, meet regularly with individuals to discuss performance and development and provide feedback and coaching.
  • Collaborate effectively with the global teams, set and communicate team priorities that support the broader organization's goals.
