Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program management.
  • 5 years of experience in leadership role with/without direct reports.
  • Experience in technical program management, partner management, release and launch readiness.
  • Experience in people management, demonstrating thought leadership and engaging directly with stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional/team projects.
  • Experience in software program management or software development lifecycle software and release management.
  • Experience with full lifecycle of software development.
  • Experience working in or is passionate about the Automotive industry.

Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage various Engineering-specific programs and teams.

Automotive industry executives say there will be more change in their business in the next 5 years than they have seen in the last 50 years. The Android Auto team collaborates with vehicle manufacturers to develop and deliver on this massive opportunity, building on a proven embedded platform to create a leading Assistant-powered, navigation, entertainment, and communication vehicle system, which will be delivered to specialized people-moving devices.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $192000 - $278000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic, complex program portfolios across Android Automotive GAS, defining program strategy, aligning cross-functional priorities, and driving problem-solving to meet organizational goals.
  • Partner with cross-functional leads (Eng, PM, UX, BizDev, Partner Eng) across Auto, P&D, and partner PAs (Android, Play, GDM, Geo-Maps) to ensure unified planning and execution to deliver on Auto business goals.
  • Engage directly with Auto Senior Leadership to share key portfolio insights, align strategy, and direct GAS annual planning and rhythm of business for operational scale.
  • Manage, develop, and mentor a team of T/PgMs delivering high-quality Google features and apps to global Automotive OEMs.
  • Apply technical expertise, program management excellence, and leadership to continuously optimize operational efficiency and accelerate delivery at scale.
